On November 30, BMW Brilliance Automotive Co., Ltd. and Mercedes-Benz (China) Investment Co., Ltd. announced the signing of a cooperation agreement to establish a joint venture in China with a 50:50 share ratio to operate a supercharging network in the Chinese market, and jointly meet the growing demand for luxury charging services among Chinese customers.

It is reported that by the end of 2026, the joint venture company plans to build at least 1,000 supercharging stations with advanced technology and about 7,000 supercharged piles in China. The first charging stations are scheduled to begin operation in China's key new energy vehicle cities from 2024, and the subsequent construction of charging stations will also cover other cities and regions across the country.

The joint venture's charging network will be open to the public. As planned, BMW Group and Mercedes-Benz Group customers can enjoy exclusive services, such as plug and charge, online booking and other seamless digital charging experience. In addition, the joint venture plans to source renewable power when conditions permit to provide a sustainable luxury charging experience for Chinese customers.
